So as a way for me to help motivate you to continue towards your fitness goals, get started on a fitness program or just so you can read about the many successes my clients have seen, I've decided to do a client feature of the week.
My first feature is on one of the most amazing women I have ever met. She is always so inspirational to others and always brings full intensity to EVERY workout. So here is Lori's story in her own words.
My daughter started working out at Fit2YourCore and was looking and feeling fabulous. I was training on my own and not seeing any results. I needed something to help me get to the next level of fitness. I decided to try Fit2YourCore in July of 2010.
At first, I thought I was in over my head, I was last in everything. I could not squat, do a sit-up, run or jump rope. I told myself that boot camp was an extreme workout meant for athletes, maybe I didn’t fit in. But, I had a strong desire to be more energetic and physically fit so, I just kept trying. I made new friends each time I attended class and they inspired and encouraged me to step up to their level of strength. Nick insisted it was possible for me to do this workout and challenged me to try. My list of excuses was endless. I told myself, I was too old, too fat, and too busy to be doing this. Nick assured me that I was capable of doing what seemed impossible to me. There were many times he had to push me out of my comfort zone. I had a choice I could accomplish the task or fail and failure is not an option for me. Sure, the aches and pains are never-ending but my body was changing and it felt remarkable.
Changing my thoughts and pushing my body has made me more self-confident. I am setting goals for myself that I never thought were possible. Recently, I ran a 188 mile relay race with an awesome group of friends I have made at Fit2YourCore. In December I am going to run a half marathon on the Las Vegas strip. In April I am going to compete in Iron Girl sprint triathlon.
You see, what keeps me motivated is the wonderful feeling of well-being I get from living a healthy lifestyle. I continue to be totally amazed at what a well-trained human body can achieve. The possibilities seem limitless, and that’s why I try not to say “I can’t” and just keep working!
